CALENDAR MIT 2014-2015

NFF-CONFERENCE 2015: Call for papers:
   "Track 7: Organizational Dynamics and Strategic Knowledge Management" at the 23rd Nordic Academy of Management Conference (12-14th August 2015) which will be held in Copenhagen chaired by Krishna Venkitashalam and Jan Löwstedt both Stockholm Business School, Stockholm University.

The 14th International Research Symposium on Service Excellence in Management. Theme: Collaborative Innovations in the Network Environment: June 18-21, 2015, Shanghai, China.

NFF-CONFERENCE 2015 (Nordic Academy of Management), CBS, Copenhagen, 12-14 August:
   "Track 5: Information technology, change and sustainability" at the NFF Conference: Jan Lindvall and Einar Iveroth, Uppsala University, are organizing a track at the 23rd Nordic Academy of Management. The subject of the track is well aligned with the majority of research performed at MIT. Therefore we invite our fellow colleagues to contribute their work to this track!    "Track 14: Dimensions of pricing" at the NFF Conference: Associates of MIT (Alf Westelius, LiU, Mathias Cöster, UU, Einar Iveroth, UU, Nils-Göran Olve, LiU, UU and Carl-Johan Petri, LiU) are organizing a track at the 23rd Nordic Academy of Management (NFF, Copenhagen, CBS). The track focuses on strategic questions of pricing and price models. All MIT members are invited to submit an abstract and join us in a fruitful discussion about pricing (deadline for abstract is 1st of March). A paper by Emilene Reis Leite (Uppsala University), entitled "When Cooperation Becomes Competition? The case of Ericsson in Brazil", was presented at the 40th EIBA Conference, held in Uppsala, December 11-13, 2014.

The Controllerday (Controllerdagen)will be held in Uppsala 12th of March. This is a Conference for practioners and researchers and the focus is discussing the frontline of management control. We end the day with some food and guided tour of Museum Gustavianum. Please see the link below for more details. Edward Gillmore (MdH) has been granted financial assistance from Hedelius Research Foundation (Handelsbanken) for two positions as a visiting scholar at the Strategy and Logistics Department, Norwegian Business School and the Department of Management & Global Business, Rutgers University, New York, during the academic year 2015-2016. He will pursue research projects on the strategic value of software development activities to globally dispersed organisational units and automation capability development networks.

MIS Quarterly, the leading information systems journal, has published a special issue on "Information Systems for Symbolic Action: Social Media and Beyond", co-edited by Professor Pär Ågerfalk. The special issue (Vol. 38, No. 4) addresses the question of what makes information systems social by drawing attention to how symbolic action is performed and mediated through IT. A paper by Kotaiba Aal, Per Skålén and Bo Edvardsson (all at Karlstad University), entitled, "Co-creating the Arab Spring: Understanding the Transformation of Service Systems in Contention", has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Service Research (the paper will be available May 2015).
